Rome, July 14th 2026 – Palazzo Farnese

At the invitation of Her Excellency Anne-Marie Descôtes, Ambassador of France to Italy, the Embassy of France in Rome hosted the traditional reception celebrating Bastille Day at the magnificent Palazzo Farnese, the historic seat of the French Embassy in Italy.

The event was attended by members of the diplomatic corps accredited to the Italian Republic, together with senior representatives of the Italian and French Governments, as well as the highest-ranking officials of the Italian Armed Forces, Police Forces, and other national institutions.

Among the distinguished guests were Her Excellency Dalia KREIVIENE , Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to Italy, and Alessandro Maria Ferreri , Honorary Consul of the Republic of Lithuania in Milan, whose presence reflected the enduring friendship and strong diplomatic relations shared by Lithuania and France, as well as their common commitment to European cooperation and international dialogue.

It is in fact a very busy period for the Lithuanian international diplomacy as Lithuania is getting ready to hold the Presidency of the Council of the European Union for the first semester of 2027.

Beside charing the meetings of the Council of the European Union, Lithuania will:

  • coordinate negotiations among the Member States;
  • represent the Council in negotiations with the European Parliament and the European Commission;
  • advance its political priorities within the European Union’s agenda.
